back to home. January 22nd 2008 Dear contemporary people, As the year 2007 came to a halt we were busy enjoying the festive season and basically that is the reason for the lack of updates. But now it is back to 24/7 dreaming and 2008 planning. Plus we like to give the news out when we have news. I shall make an order: - We are playing a one-off single show in London in a few days.The great people over at Rockfeedback & the Transgressive/Warmlsey gang have called us up. We are playing on Thursday January 24th. GET DOWN EARLY enough to see us (that means come by 8pm!). We did record a single produced by the great Jeremy Warmsley, two new songs called "Best Regards" & "Rest". Now it's all a matter of doing the usual talking and convincing..and who knows me might have em out sooner than you blink. Jeez was Jeremy fun, good and great! We are going to be back up in London soon enough..we can't stay too long apart from our pals Fanfarlo. We are actually going to be playing Twee As F**k on April 11th. More shows to be confirmed. Last but not least..some really kind and extraordinary people have been taking time out of their daily activities to write, praise, enjoy and make A Classic Education blush like crazy. Here are a few write-ups..thanks thanks thanks. Wow...i'm going to grow a beard and hide now... - SWEEPING THE NATION has posted a nice Class of '08...and yes we are in it.. - Indie MP3 has placed us in another list of their best free downloads for the year.. - 17 seconds says that A Classic Education "play a myriad of instruments and make some of the most gorgeous music you will hear." November 25th 2007 Hello wild swans... what can we say, the legendary six piece has been up to mischief. At the moment the collective known as A Classic Education has finished recording two new songs with the wonderful Jeremy Warmsley. Look for a further release coming up. As a matter of fact sometime secrets just have to be told. What fun would there be without telling secrets. We are going to open for Jeremy Warmsley's show on Thursday 29th of November at one of our fav rendez-vous in Carpi(Italy). London is in our plans..so watch out for a few shows coming up. Oh and last but not least...here is a shout out to some new friends. Two great guys have just set up a new italian label called 42. Yeah like 42 wild swans running across the field...well they have a mp3 compilation out that gently presents even our little quiet number "Lovers Barricade". Download it here. Once again we are missing our Fanfarlo pals from the last tour. It was a festive once. Thanks to everyone that made it possible. October 22nd 2007 Wow, it has been a long summer and between trips here and there it just flew by and now we're counting the digits on our thermometer as they drop and drop and drop. Well we have played 8 shows so far and they have been real real good and fun for us all. Here's the thing: we will be touring Italy briefly starting the day after Halloween...the lovely Fanfarlo from London will be joining on all four shows..making it a healthy crew of over 13 people driving up and down.. July 11th 2007 Dear ladies and gentleman, a few months later from our last rant here is a bit of news we are really happy about! A Classic Education has been asked to open for the mighty ARCADE FIRE...and the show is quite soon..actually in less than 24 hours. We will be opening tomorrow night in Ferrara..in one of the prettiest piazzas ever! July 11th Arcade Fire A Classic Education in Ferrara, Piazza Castello www.ferrarasottolestelle.it It all starts early around 9pm. As usual there will be six of us on stage tomorrow. Our official mood is: joy! This will be our 5th show ever! After a self-organized festival, an unbelievable show with the Marr-Modest Mouse bunch, a flight to London for White Heat and a hardcore fest...well this one will be magic. what a journey! Thanks to everyone that has been helping out once again with kind words, places to stay, food and the occasional chat and amp swap. We will be having a busy summer, we are working on all the songs, planning to come back up to UK for late august and most of all recording! May 15th 2007 Well we played our firt show two weeks ago and it was amazing. The thrill of playing for the first time in such a great situation with a bunch of oustanding bands! We had to switch drummers like the day before the show 'cause of an injury but it all turned out ok..fede saved us! A few short videos have come up and you can see them on our myspace page. Other than that we will be playing in London on June 5th and in Bologna on June 4th. We hail from Bologna, Italy although we’ve been all over the place in sometime or another of our recent lives. Amongst four blazing nights between Xmas 2006 and the year of 2007, we recorded a single/ep in the middle of the mountains of centre-north Italy. We worked late at night with the wind blowing away and the dogs outside barking away..at us. The studio was way up high, overlooking two valleys down below. |
